I rediscovered this picture a couple of weeks ago and fell in love with it. We have it on our desktop at home and it's on my desk at work.
It captures the sweet face of Carter in peaceful sleep.

Geoff gave me your website, as we work together. Carter was a beautiful little boy with very special parents. I lost my 16-year-old daughter almost two years ago. Reading your comments from beginnigng to end, I can vivdly remember all the details of her accident yet see how God has brought so much blessing through a great tragedy. The testimony of both her life and death are remarkable. I pray for you both and your journey to a new "normal" as nothing will ever be quite the same for you again. I wish I could say, Sarah, that time heals the wound, but it doesn't; you simply learn to see the blessings and live with a great loss. My verse I live by is Job 1:21: The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; the name of the Lord is to be praised. I've found that it's really easy to praise Him when all is going well and your prayers are answered the way you want, but it means so much more to praise Him when things aren't so good and your will isn't His. May He truly bless your lives and may you grow spiritually by leaps and bounds through this.

This is a beautiful picture!!!! My heart goes out to you guys. I am the mother of four adopted children and the thought of losing one is unbearable. May God keep you and watch over you.
